I began running about 25 years ago. I used to play many sports including football, basketball and soccer, and I ran to keep myself in shape and ready. Running made me more efficient, although I have to admit, running was not my favorite thing to do back in those days. I played sports for many years and suddenly I felt empty - like something was missing. I slowly started to distance myself from everything including soccer, which was my favorite sport to play, and for whatever reason I never stopped running.

I started road-racing 10 years ago and that is when I discovered my true passion. I ran many 5ks, 8ks, 10k, 5milers and 10milers through the years, but my most challenging races are the middle and long distance races, such as half marathons, 25k, 30k, etc. I have done plenty of those too. It is hard to choose a favorite race, as they are all unique in their own way. However, the trail and long distance races always seem to get my attention. I have run about 12 marathons including Boston, Chicago, Madison (WS), and Pikes Peak (CO).

My goal is to promote the great benefits of running not only physically and psychologically, but also socially. I have many friends and have met most of them either running races or on the trails training for a particular race.

I am so glad to be part of the running community and to be a member of the Prairie State Road Runners club. I always look forward to our Sunday morning training run that always concludes at Lallo′s Bar and Grill in Channahon. We have developed such great camaraderie and friendship, and of course, we always welcome new members.
